Doritos

As previously posted, TED Fellow, Darius Weems was the recipient of one of this year's DoSomething.org awards.

The award secured:

  • $20,000 for Duchenne muscular dystrophy research ($10,000 of which was a surprise donation from MTV)
  • The world television premiere of our documentary, Darius Goes West (DGW), on MTV 2 and MTV U (This happened on Darius' 20th birthday--a little less than a month ago)
  • DGW's story being pictured and written about on Doritos bags around the United States (and maybe the world?)

We're excited to announce that the Dorito bags wrapped in DGW art/copy have finally hit the stores! We've included some pictures below.

Here is the man himself posing with a bag.

Here is one of our particularly enthusiastic (and hungry) supporters showing off her stash.

And here is a close up of the picture/copy that will be included on who knows how many Doritos bags until next October.

If you would like to apply for the DoSomething.org awards, you can visit their website. If you haven't seen Darius Goes West, you can now watch and share the entire film on our website.

Also, if there are any other video makers out there, we just found out that Doritos is running a Superbowl commercial contest with $5 million up for grabs.  It would be awesome if a TED Fellow, or one of the TF Blog subscribers took the prize!

Thanks for reading!
